About Radical Mind

“How can I change the world

If I can’t even change myself?”

Salva Mea by Faithless

Personal growth and societal change go hand in hand. I’m here for people who see the bigger picture - people who want to live with purpose, balance and resilience while working towards a sustainable, just and compassionate world. Whether you’re struggling with activism, a demanding career or the challenges of everyday life, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

The Struggle Is Real

You’re trying to make a difference in the world while juggling a million things. But between the overwhelm, the stress and the constant fight for balance, you’re left feeling disconnected - from yourself, your purpose and the impact you want to make.

I get it. The constant push to do more, be more and fix what’s broken - it’s overwhelming. And the weight of it all is exhausting. I’m sorry you’re carrying so much. I know how frustrating it is to feel that no matter how much you give, it’s never enough.

But I also know this: you’re not failing, and you’re not broken. Feeling burnt out or stuck isn’t a sign of weakness - it’s a natural response to juggling endless demands while trying to live in line with your values. In a society that glorifies overwork and competitive individualism, it’s no wonder you’re feeling stretched thin.

You’re not alone in this. So many others - activists, changemakers and deeply compassionate people - are navigating the same struggles. While your life is unique, we’re all facing the same systemic pressures that make it hard to thrive while trying to create meaningful change.

Overwhelm, disconnection and constant pressure to perform are symptoms of systems that don’t meet our needs as people or as communities. But by addressing these challenges within ourselves, we take the first step towards dismantling harmful systems and rebuilding communities that support equality, sustainability and genuine connection.

What’s Possible

You know there’s more to life than the daily grind, the endless to-do lists and the pressure to always be “on.” But you’re not just looking for relief from the stress - you’re searching for something deeper. You want to feel connected again: to yourself, to the people and causes you care about, and to a sense of purpose that fuels you.

Imagine waking up in the morning knowing how to spend you day, where to focus your energy and why it matters. Picture yourself moving through your day with confidence, aligned with your values and making effective decisions that feel right because they reflect the person you genuinely are.

What if you could create change in the world without feeling like you’re losing yourself in the process? What if you could pursue your passion without sacrificing your wellbeing?

Releasing Limiting Beliefs

Much of the so-called “self-help” and “wellness” industries are infected with the delusional beliefs of misogynistic and transphobic patriarchy, white supremacy culture and neoliberal capitalism. They promote lifestyles based on selfish greed and a lust for power, masquerading as “rugged individualism”. We know that humans are, by nature, social animals. Prolonged alienation, loneliness and isolation make us crazy.

The myth of the lone hero sacrificing all for the world is just that - a myth. You don’t have to choose between personal wellbeing and societal impact. It’s time to let go of the idea that your worth is tied to your productivity, that self-sacrifice is the only path to creating change, that success looks the same for everyone or that you must do it all alone.

It’s not easy to question the patterns that have shaped your life. The expectations you’ve carried can feel so ingrained that stepping away from them feels like stepping off a cliff. Radical Mind is here to guide you as you explore what truly matters, reconnect with your values and discover healthier ways to approach personal growth and societal change.

Releasing limiting beliefs isn’t about throwing everything away or starting over. It’s about carefully untangling the threads of what you’ve been told to believe and weaving something new - something uniquely yours. You don’t have to do this alone, and you don’t have to have all the answers right now.

Change Is Scary

It’s okay to feel lost or unsure. That’s where growth begins. With my support, you’ll learn to face the tough questions, reconnect with your values and build a lasting foundation of resilience. When the path feels uncertain, I’m here to remind you that you’re not alone and you’re stronger than you know.

You’ve been carrying so much for so long - expectations, responsibilities, even doubts about whether you’re doing enough or being enough. Beneath all of that, your authentic self is still there, waiting for you.

Reclaim Your Power

Rediscovering your authentic self isn’t about fixing yourself - you were never broken. It’s about reconnecting with your inner compass and recognising your strengths and values. When you do this, something magical happens: you reclaim your personal power.

I can help you tap into this power naturally and sustainably. Through personalised coaching sessions, we’ll explore what drives you, what lights you up and what you want your life - and your impact on the world - to look like. With practical tools and strategies, you’ll learn to navigate setbacks with resilience, make choices that align with your values and take actions that leverage your strengths. You’ll feel grounded and whole, confident in your ability to balance personal growth with impactful societal change while maintaining the wellbeing you deserve.

Imagine how liberating it would feel to show up each day as your whole self. No masks. No compromises. Imagine how much more impact you could have when acting from a place of authenticity and joy rather than obligation or burnout. That’s the kind of transformation Radical Mind is here to help you create. Together, we’ll turn those “what ifs” into tangible steps towards a life that feels like yours.

Wider Impact

Reclaiming your power isn’t just about you. When you find balance and purpose and live authentically, you inspire others to do the same. Your transformation can catalyse a chain reaction of positive change in the lives of those around you, benefitting the causes and communities you care about and empowering collective action. And that? That’s where real change begins. Together, we can create a more sustainable, just and compassionate world.

Why Choose Radical Mind?

I created Radical Mind because I’ve been where you are. As someone deeply committed to environmental sustainability, social justice and collective wellbeing, I know what it’s like to balance personal aspirations with the urgent need for societal change. I understand the stress, the overwhelm and the constant pull between self-care and activism. I’ve also studied psychology, neuroscience and several models of psychotherapy, and I've learned a fair bit about why change is hard and how to make it easier.

When it comes to personal development, you have to do the work yourself. But you don’t have to face these challenges alone. I’m passionate about creating a space where people like you can grow, refocus and make a meaningful impact without compromising their wellbeing.

Here’s what sets Radical Mind apart:

  • Personalised Support: Everything I offer, whether through coaching or self-study courses, is tailored to your needs, strengths and values.
  • Flexible Learning: I understand that your life is busy. That’s why I offer options that fit around your schedule.
  • Evidence-Based: Grounded in the science of positive psychology, any advice I give is backed by research, not guesswork.
  • Aligned Values: If you value sustainability, social justice and collective wellbeing, you’ll find a kindred spirit here.

Who I Don’t Work With

  • I'm not a therapist

If you need help with depression, anxiety or another mental health problem, please talk with a qualified and registered mental health professional.

  • I only speak English

While I’m currently unable to support anyone who isn’t fluent in English, I welcome suggestions for adjustments that can improve accessibility for people with disabilities or members of marginalised and socially excluded groups.

  • I don’t work with social conservatives

For coaching to be effective, both coach and client must approach the relationship with an open mind and mutual respect. I work with people of any (or no) religion, but I struggle to respect those who choose to be ignorant on purpose.

  • I don’t talk to fascists

Anyone who denies the fundamental rights of others is not welcome here.

Who I Do Work With

Radical Mind is for forward-thinking people who care deeply about the world around them. My clients come from diverse backgrounds. Some are professionals in public services, charities or social enterprises. Others are volunteer activists, creative rebels and visionary changemakers.

The majority of my clients are people who want to contribute more than they currently do - and seek a more engaged and meaningful life - but feel stressed or overwhelmed by everyday struggles. They all share a common belief in the power of personal growth to drive collective transformation. Does this sound like you?

You’re likely juggling a lot: work, family, social life and the drive to make a difference. You’re motivated by a sense of ethical duty, personal experiences of injustice or a desire to create a better future. But like many, you might also feel overwhelmed, have self-doubt or lack direction. That’s where I come in.

Let’s Work Together

Radical Mind is more than a business; it’s a partnership. It’s a safe and supportive space for reflection, growth and action. Whether you’re here to explore coaching, dive into self-study courses or find a supportive community, I’m here to help you achieve balance, resilience and fulfilment - all while staying true to your values and contributing to the change you want to see in the world.

If this sounds like the kind of support you’ve been searching for, let’s connect.

My Mission

I do this work because I care about people and the planet and about making real, lasting change. I believe that personal growth and societal change fuel each other. When we look after ourselves, we’re better equipped to create the world we want to see. That’s the core of what I do.

I’ve seen how activism, ambition and the sheer weight of modern life can wear people down: burnout, self-doubt and that nagging sense of not doing enough. But I’ve also seen what happens when people find balance, build resilience and reconnect with their sense of purpose. It changes everything. I want to help you tap into your strengths, tackle challenges and take meaningful action without running yourself into the ground.

I believe in fairness, community and sustainability. I value cooperation and collective wellbeing over selfish and competitive individualism. Through Radical Mind, I support people like you - changemakers, deep thinkers, people who give a damn - to grow, take action and make an impact in a way that doesn’t cost you your wellbeing. Doing good in the world should never mean sacrificing yourself in the process. I will always strive to create a secure and nurturing environment for the challenging work of personal development.

Despite a comfortable childhood, John has lived in poverty for most of his adult life and has been homeless twice. He’s self-employed because a mix of health problems makes him unsuitable for regular employment. He’s hopeful that Radical Mind can keep a roof over his head while he helps others.

John is a committed anticapitalist, antifascist, intersectional feminist and libertarian socialist. He's a member of Greenpeace and a supporter of several other non-violent groups labelled as “domestic extremists” by governments that pretend to value democracy while serving polluters and profiteers.

John lives in the city of Preston in the heart of Lancashire. Yes, it does rain a lot. He has no children or pets. He’s quite fond of a spider that lives in his bathroom, if that counts? John enjoys roleplaying games (tabletop and live) and is an award-winning amateur DJ. He loves walking in the countryside and reading in bed. In his spare time, he sleeps.
